... wordcreations, which should make the statement, that my works are objects, which are refusing to be pure fashion accessories ... works with more sense than only to be "decorative jewellery"... or to be luxury decoration, only worn as status symbol.
For me, jewellery(objects) are communication tools
... my way to express, to challenge things ...
Again and again the question: Is this art? ... sculpture? ... design? ... jewellery? ... all together??
For everyone who likes to pigeonhole me, the answer is easy:
It is "Unschmuck" (..but not easy to say in english: it is the german analogon to "nonjewellery")
...settled in a tension field between art, sculpture, object, design, jewellery, handcraft, article of utility ... works, which are rising through a dialogue or experiment with form, material, color ... but rather can be classify to "form follows ideas" than to "form follows function" - so they aren´t designs in that classical meaning.
Most of my works are sculptures or object-art with a conceptual background, which can be worn as piece of jewellery rather by chance because these works are subordinated to the "expression of the idea" and not to the the slogan "form follows function".
If somebody thinks now that my works are all together "unwearable" will find out by try-on, that these works are fitting amazing comfortable ...
Other works are dealing with the theme "partnership and manifestation of it"
... interpretations and variations to the themes: wedding band, engagement ring, wedding ring and other jewels, which serves to manifest the partnership of lovers ... combined through one word: partnerrings !
Another emphasis is dealing rather with "searching for partners", this is my "erotic jewellery" ... a lot of these jewels are inspired by the novel "Story of O" by Pauline Réage, for example the "story of O ring" ... but also these pieces of jewellery are shaped through my personal point of view to this theme and they do refusing to be just products.
